THE PHIFER STORY
In 1952 J. Reese Phifer established Phifer Incorporated in Tuscaloosa, Ala. (USA) as a weaver of aluminum insect screening. Today, the company is the world’s largest producer of aluminum and fiberglass insect screening products. When Phifer began production in 1952, two main goals were to excel in quality and in service. Phifer has kept its commitment to our customers for a span of five decades and will continue to provide quality products and quality service for years to come.
Throughout the years, the company’s weaving expertise has broadened and expanded the product line to include high-quality woven fabrics. Phifer’s interior sun control and exterior sun control fabrics offer heat reduction at window areas and are designed for both commercial and residential applications.
Stylish high-performance fabrics woven for outdoor applications such as outdoor furniture, cushions and umbrellas, include an array of intricately woven fabrics in dobbies, wicker weaves, stripes, jacquards and various blends that reflect the latest fashion trends.
With more than 50 years of wire drawing experience, Phifer has developed aluminum, steel and bronze drawn wire products for traditional and specialized applications. Working to meet manufacturers’ custom needs worldwide, Phifer has produced Engineered Products of metal and textile meshes for industrial applications, as well as custom packaging of Phifer’s stock line of screen, mesh and fabric products.
Master weavers, Phifer also manufactures a variety of fabrics for specialty markets, such as pet care, filtration, contract furniture, wall covering, automotive, ventilation, backerboard, awning and marine.

Manufacturing and corporate offices are located in our state-of-the-art facilities in Tuscaloosa, and additional warehousing/sales offices operate in California, Italy and China.
