Partnership will debut with collection of sling fabrics and patterns in early 2026

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (September 10, 2025) – Phifer Incorporated has announced a groundbreaking partnership with Glen Raven Materials Solutions Group to license their Sunbrella brand to produce high-quality Sunbrella Sling fabric for use on outdoor furniture. This collaboration underscores Phifer's ongoing commitment to innovation in specialty textiles. For more than 70 years, Phifer has led the way in creating fabrics that combine function and design. Its Phifertex® line is already trusted worldwide, and the addition of Sunbrella Sling further expands the company's design-forward, performance-driven fabric solutions.

The first Phifer-produced Sunbrella Sling collection will debut in January 2026, offering approximately 50 stock fabrics alongside additional made-to-order designs. Manufactured in Phifer's advanced facilities in the U.S. and Asia, the collection combines Sunbrella's signature yarns with Phifer's decades of expertise in sling technology to deliver fabrics that set a new benchmark in comfort, style and performance for the casual furniture market. Continuing collaboration between the Sunbrella and Phifer design teams will ensure a coordinated offering of styles for each future season.

"We are excited to bring together two trusted names in performance fabrics—Sunbrella Sling and Phifertex®," said Hugo Benitez, national market manager of designed fabrics at Phifer Incorporated. "This partnership is an ideal complement to our sling fabric portfolio and will elevate design and performance for the casual furniture market."

"By combining the trusted performance and design leadership Sunbrella is known for with Phifer's technical expertise in sling fabrics, we are setting a new standard for performance and beauty in outdoor furnishings," said Suzie Roberts, vice president and general manager of furnishings at Sunbrella. "This partnership will allow us to meet the evolving needs of our customers in the casual industry with fabric selections that are as comfortable and stylish as they are durable."

Developed with proprietary technology, the new Sunbrella Sling fabrics blend the strength of PVC with the softness of Sunbrella acrylic yarn. The result is a sling fabric that is not only strong and supportive, but also soft to the touch, stain-resistant and easy to maintain.
